The subscription period for the Sovereign Gold Bond Scheme 2022-23 - Series II, which runs from August 22 through August 26, 2022, is currently open. The issue price for gold is Rs 5,197 per gramme, compared to the actual gold price in Indian markets on August 22, 2022, which was above Rs 5,250 per gramme. The issue price is reduced to Rs 5,147 per gramme of gold for online investors, representing a savings of Rs 50 per gramme of gold.

If you want to purchase gold, the Sovereign Gold Bond (SGB) is a better option than actual gold, especially if your goal is to amass gold for your child's marriage a few years later. This is because SGB is far more advantageous than actual gold from the perspectives of making payments, quality, safety, cost of storage, taxes, etc.
